Josh Sterlin jumped from studying what it meant to be human, to taking a D.I.Y approach. He tortured himself by moving to the wilderness of the Puget Sound, WA, but was distracted from (and utterly engaged with) the rain by spending his year learning to make fire from scratch, form tribe, skin animals, listen to bird language and track humans and Others, inner and outer. He’s presently learning to pass on what he’s learnt to the future generations before he returns to the academy to meld his study with his doing, just as his poetry mixes the spirit with the flesh.
